To me, financial freedom is being financially secure. What would you do if today your income stopped coming in? Most would take out a personal loan, put bills on credit cards, or just not pay them! I believe in having an emergency fund of 3-6 months of living expenses. It would be a little bit easier to breath if you had that safety net. It all starts with money management.

Money management is a vital part of everyday living. All too often young adults spend without thinking. Society has taught us that it is OK to have 10 or so credit cards. Many young adults go out and get as many as they can thinking it will build up their score. When the bills come in they are shocked at how much they have spent. It is easier to spend money on a credit card than cash. That is why it is important to track your spending and budget. Budgeting only takes about 5 minutes each month once you get used to it. I promise it can be fun and exciting, especially when you have a goal and can see that you are attaining it. Imagine paying yourself a car payment or credit card payment each month. You would be able to do that once you have paid off those things. Then it would be easier to save for your goal!

I think if we start spending smart today instead of later we could change the way other people think about money too!

Control your money before it controls you!
