Hey Everybody!
My name is Bryan Hall, I am 23 years old and I’m a Theatre & Film Production Major from The University of North Alabama.
I'm an actor, a musician, a stage manager, a videographer, and a web designer.
I transferred to UNA from Northwest-Shoals Community College, where I attended classes and also obtained a work-study job as a video production specialist and web designer.
I currently work in the scene shop at UNA, building sets for the music and theatre department. I’ve been doing video production and web design on my own since 2007.
I love entertaining and making people laugh and I’m extremely excited at a chance to be the Young and Free spokesperson for Alabama!

So, what exactly IS a credit union?
When I was younger, I thought a credit union was just somewhere your grandparents banked and a place to keep your social security card locked up in a vault.
But, actually a credit union is a financial institution that is owned and controlled by its members. When you open an account and deposit money into the credit union, you own a portion of the company and you elect a board of directors to oversee the “bank”, in a democratic vote system, regardless of the amount of money you have invested. They take your money and loan it to other members as well as make investments for the company. Being a member of a credit union has EVERY benefit that any other bank would such as, share checking and savings accounts, debit/credit cards, online and mobile banking, as well as providing its members better rates on loans and credit. Credit unions are also deeply rooted in community development, something you don’t always see from a big corporate bank. Credit unions are committed to helping its members improve their financial health.
Credit unions are perfect for students and young adults. Most credit unions offer special accounts for students. Listerhill’s “The Hill” account, for example is targeted for young adults. With tons of FREE options like: debit & credit cards, internet banking, online bill pay, budgeting tools, OVERDRAFT FORGIVNESS (up to 5 per year). You can also integrate your FAFSA student loans right into your account and allow access for your parents/guardians to make deposits into your account.
And the best part about all this is it’s as easy as going online, or going into your local credit union branch and signing up, FOR FREE!
Until next time, keep living young and free Alabama!
